Poor Blog :(

I know I haven't posted anything for a while now it's not because I have nothing to say or because nothing is going on actually tons of things are going on here at the Garcia house! I've been doing lots of training and working the night shift which gets me home at around 2 or 3 am. I usually sleep in a little then it's up and running with Keeghan if Renee has something going on which has been the case this past week. I'm thankful to be able to help her in that way even if it is sitting my butt on the couch and hang out with my little Ha! I will post more going on later just a quick update.

I'm ready for some Football

Like many guys out there right now I'm getting more and more excited about the upcoming football season. There's just something about vegging on the couch on a Saturday or a lazy Sunday afternoon just watching football and seeing all these overpaid millionaires hit each other! I find it both amusing and fun I guess I'm just weird that way. On saturdays you will more than likely find me watching USC games that I've set to record on my dvr. I find college football to be so intense and raw. There's no contract disputes, salary caps or bonuses, no egos that hurt the team's morale just simple and pure devotion to the game for the sake of the game. Yeah I know there are those players that all they want is to get to the NFL but overall I find college football to be extremely fun and exciting to watch.

As for the NFL well what can I say? It's a whole different animal, it's also exciting but you can see that these guys know they've made it so they don't play as hard sometimes. The star players really do shine when push comes to shove but I feel like some of the rookies are sometimes the most exciting one to watch. I'll be watching my 49ers whenever I can (even though the stink! ha ha) and I'll be watching the Titans because well they are due for a Super Bowl win this year. So I'll leave with just a little cheer for my team.

FIGHT ON!!!

A great Saturday

For the last week or so I've been in training mode, working long hours and coming home and feeling very sleepy every night. I haven't even looked as to when I blogged last I've just been so tired and out of it but enough whining he he. Today was an awesome day it all began at 7:15 am when the boys decided they didn't to be in bed anymore so I got up with them while Renee stayed in bed for a well deserved day of sleeping in. I decided that I would make Mickey mouse pancakes for all the kids since they seemed to enjoy them very much last Saturday.

After breakfast Renee and the kiddos hung out at home and got ready for our impromptu grill out. We invited all of the couples in our small group and the ones that could showed up and we had a great time! Some of the couples in our group wanted me to teach them how to make Carne Asada (grilled flat steak), Salsa from scratch and Ceviche (Crab Dip). I felt like I was having a cooking class for sure he he and it was a lot of fun and here's the proof.

This the kind of mess I like to make.

Ah yes the flat steak and green onions.

Fresh made salsa, ceviche and green salsa.

Carne Asada turned out delicious if I say so myself. :)

After this flavor fest of Mexican style we decided to cool off in the pool. The kids had a great time in the pool and after a couple hours of fun in the sun we our day finally ended. It was so much fun hanging out with good friends and enjoying their company. Thank you Jackie for letting us take over your house and letting us enjoy your pool our fun day would not have happened without your hospitality. Now I'm on the couch winding down and still full from lunch. Soon we will get the kids to bed and I'm looking forward to a great Sunday.

Frank's Q & A #3

You too?!?!? Scott is obsessed. I have ZERO control over TV during World Cup and I just about don't see him during the Wake Forest season- it is so close and he gets a seasons pass. So, this should work out perfectly! Renee and I can go do our own thing while you and Scott stay home with all of the "bees". LOL!

Yeah I'm addicted for sure and I don't mind the bees but it would be awesome to see you guys soon for sure!

I have known personally a Major Payne, a Lieutenant Dan, a SGT Major and a Sergeant Sergeant. I'll have to think of a few funny ones we've had...sometimes I feel bad, especially when my husband was a DS, you know you're a target right away, lol
I am totally jealous that you've met all these soldiers with funny names!! That's pretty awesome though and you're totally right when you have a funny name thats the first people the DS will pick on.

Can't even imagine what your feet are going to look like tomorrow! I wish I'd been paying attention...there was a commercial somewhere about inserts for your shoes that you put in the freezer...or are they not army issue so it wouldn't have worked anyway?
Hey Lynn the Army issues a lot of things but shoe inserts is something they don't but they definetly should!

So how did it go? Your feet okay?
My feet survived the second day of marching ok. Needless to say they were very sore but the second day wasn't too bad. Thanks for you prayers Lynn. :)

It definitely wasn't a good day to be stuck outside doing anything (besides maybe play in a pool)! How long does this training last? Don't get carried away by any bugs :)
I wish I was in a pool yesterday that would have been awesome!. The training is supposed to last a total of two weeks so I hope the weather cools down some. Lucky for me I've been pulled from being on the field and instead I'm running aircraft maintenance which is just as much of a challenge but less bugs! :)

Good Old Fashioned Training

I'm still up and it's 10:30 pm! Today was extremely hot out in the back forty (as we call it). There's an amazing amount of insects and bugs out there. Today I saw a horse fly the size of my thumb! My thumb people!! One of the guys picked up a pole and proceeded to kill these huge flies before one of them landed on us and carried us away! Ha Ha. It's was about 90 degrees out there today with about 90% humidity and even hotter in the tent we set up to "try" to stay cool in, personally I think it made it worse but I guess the shade was good. We had many helicopters come in to be loaded and we spend a good amount of time loading them. I know training is part of my job and I do enjoy it but sometimes when you're tired and overheated you don't really care how cool they are. Anyway here's a few pictures I took with my iPhone and oh by the way the blades of the helicopter really don't bend that much its just that they spin so fast that my phone camera could not pick up the blades accurately. Enjoy!

Ramblings of my life!

Starting on monday I will be starting training and going to the field. Lucky for me I get to come home every night but it's gonna be along week of sitting around and waiting to arm the Apache Helicopters are they come to our FARP (Forward Arm and Refuel Point). It's part of my job as an Armament guy to do this kind of training not because I need it but because the pilots need it so we can deploy with well trained pilots. I plan to take many pictures being that I'm the photo guys in my unit so I'm looking forward to some cool shots next week. Here's a picture to give you and idea what I'm talking about.

Trip to the Library

Once a month we usually go to our library downtown for our monthly Down Syndrome Support group it's a good way for us to connect with other families in Clarksville that have children with DS and we share stories and things that are going on in our lives, it's a good time for the kids to run around spend time together and for the parents to just catch up. Well las month there wasn't that many kids in our group and it was a meeting that pretty much the kids would have been completely bored so while Renee sat in on the meeting I took the kids to the children's library and let them have it! They had a good time and I did as well taking pictures of them with my iPhone.

Kassidy enjoyed herself .

Here she is reading to Keeghan. He looks like he fell asleep! lol

Pretty girl! :)

Kameron looks confused..

Smiling :)

I know I've been ignoring my blog for a few days and it's not because of lack of topics at all it's been mostly because I've been so stinking tired! I've been feeling like things are stale and lagging lately maybe its the heat or maybe its the lack of movement our adoption of Kellsey. When I woke up today I had a feeling things were finally going to change and they have!! We found out there's a way for me to get my passport so we can travel and after much running around in 94 degree weather with a ridiculous amount of humidity I finally was able to get everything put together to apply for my passport. It's almost surreal that we are finally at this point in our adoption, for the longest time I felt like things we're not going to change but I thank God that we are at this juncture! Now we need to start getting out minds on traveling and finishing up the rest of our paperwork. So from now on I'll be smiling more and stop feeling so draggy (is that a word?).
