I know I haven't posted anything since my birthday and to be honest nothing much has changed around here in Afghanistan. It's still dusty, hot, and most just plain BORING!! My daily routine is terribly boring to say the least and really who wants to read about some soldier doing the same thing day in and day out? Not me! Which is why I haven't really updated at all for over 3 months. I see the same view everyday that even my pictures are boring to me because I tend to get very similar shots whenever I take pictures so that's pretty much stopped for the most part. I say it's boring but don't think I'm complaining it's a good thing that it's so quiet and boring in this area because last we had heard in the spring was that we were going to be in a hot zone here in Southern Afghanistan and we were going to be in the middle of a huge fight. Eh now it kinda feels like a big build up to the Superbowl Halftime show, it was all talk and glitz and when we got down to it, it fell flat and fizzled out. So here I am in my boring place with the rest of the guys day in and day out work 12 hr days, sweat, get dirty and get in an occasional water fight with whomever walks by our work area and have a little fun there. I get to live vicariously through people right now on Facebook and I get to see what exciting lives they are living! Hahaha Nah but it's nice to know that life goes on back home and that I may not feel it but I'm making a difference by being here so people back home can enjoy their every day lives. Thanks for checking in and I will update sooner than 3 months I promise. I leave you with some of the pictures I've taken lately.

Yeah! Now both you and Renee are back! Look forward to more posts from you. Love the pictures you post and so does my son! He wants to work on or fly helicopters when he grows up!
Well, I for one am really happy that you're bored. Just don't get complacent, man, you're still around a lot of dangerous equipment
Thanks for the update, been watching you on FB, too.
Thanks for the update! If nothing else...I don't have to scroll down so far to leave a post! And may all your fights be with water only!
What comfort these words give! Praying!
John 14:1-3 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

Frank,
Who knew that you'd have to travel so far to engage in a water fight?! I'm glad you posted something...I do check here occasionally. Your pictures may be old and boring to you, but I think that they are amazing shots. Keep them coming! I've often wondered if have access to Facebook was good so that you're still connected with everyone back home or if it is harder on you to see and hear what everyone is doing that you can't be a part of. Hang in there, my friend and thank you for being "bored" over there so that we may be free over here to do what we want and to go where we want!

Continuing to lift up prayers!
Psalms 119:49-50 Remember the word unto thy servant, upon which thou hast caused me to hope. This is my comfort in my affliction: for thy word hath quickened me.

Always here praying!
2 Corinthians 1:3-5 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Isaiah 43:1-3a: But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned ; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour

Praying in Seattle as always!
Isaiah 25:8-9 He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it. And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.

Psalms 91:1-2 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
