Do you know I used to fall asleep while marching ALL THE TIME? It wasn't until 15 years later that I found out I had narcolepsy. LOL Anyway, I'd fall asleep marching in formation, then run into the person in front of me when we'd come to a halt. LOL Some of my favorite memories were of D & C though. I loved it. I used to call cadence for a POW/MIA group here in MN, and we'd do parades all over the state. But that was a silent march, so the cadence was just enough to keep everyone in step. (that was a group of 50-75, depending upon who showed up.) But my dream was to have a D & C group. I loved that stuff! Anyway, your post was a long time ago, so I hope your feet are doing a lot better now!

My hubby would so be able to relate. He retired with 26 yrs. (4/5 of them in USAR). He's not quite 5'6" with size 8 feet. I've heard him complain more than once about the marches vs. his height, etc. Keep up the good work and thank you.

That sounds remarkably like high school band camp and the days we would do nothing but "basics" in preparation for competition. I'm short too so it was always hard for me to keep up (except we weren't allowed to double time, so I just had to stretch!) and I got to do it while hauling around a tuba :)

Thank you for doing all the things you do! Hopefully tomorrow won't be too bad for you!

Can't even imagine what your feet are going to look like tomorrow! I wish I'd been paying attention...there was a commercial somewhere about inserts for your shoes that you put in the freezer...or are they not army issue so it wouldn't have worked anyway?
